Do the milkshake the milkshake do the shake
This is either very good news or very bad news, depending on your attitude towards the impending film adaptation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. David O. Russell, who's been attached to the project as both writer and director, has announced that he has left the project, citing "creative differences" with Sony.
Apparently, despite the ominous overtones, the split was amicable according to Variety. Sony will continue to "aggressively" develop the title, which Russell was more than happy to promote during recent promotional tours.
There are not any actors officially attached to the project, nor have there ever been. Fan favourite Nathan Fillion could still therefore be in with a chance, as Russell's departure may also mean that the rumour of Mark Wahlberg in the title role may dissipate, too.
We're not sure if Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci are still said to be involved in Uncharted either - but, even if a new director wasn't going to change the direction the film takes, bringing a new writer on board certainly will. Watch this space.
