Grab your companion cubes, Portal 2 has just been announced. Following a big week of teaser images, seemingly innocuous game updates and even an old-school BBS to explore, Valve have revealed just what they've been working on.
The game's already been confirmed as making the cover of GameInformer, with a few more intriguing details revealed - such as new characters, bigger areas of Aperture Science Labs to explore, and even co-op play - but this isn't the end of the story. Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike and Half-Life) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Portal 2 for shipment this coming holiday season.
Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Portal, which won 70 industry achievement awards.
